About
iNews history, coverage, features
iNews is an Indonesian television channel owned and operated by MNC. The channel was launched on March 5, 2008 under the name SUN TV, but it would later be rebranded to Sindo TV on September 26, 2011. That name would last until 2015, when the channel became known as iNews TV. The word “TV” would be dropped by the network on October 31, 2017 to give the channel its current name.
Over the years, iNews has been known as a news -focused network, with information shows and live sports events being available for users to watch. Most of the content aired on this channel has been available in Indonesian, but there might be some shows that were produced abroad that may keep their native language.
Speaking about sports, iNews has focused on airing football competitions and billiards tournaments. iNews has covered football games for tournaments such as the UEFA Euro, the Dutch Eredivisie, the English FA Cup, and the AFF Championship. Some of those competitions have only been aired as repeat broadcasts, but others such as the Eredivisie have enjoyed live coverage.
iNews was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed replaced the original feed to become the main way to watch this channel. A downscaled version of this channel might be available for users who do not have access to HD technology.
