Premier Sport 1 is a Czech television channel owned and operated by Digi. The channel was launched on August 9, 2019 as a replacement to Digi Sport 4.
As its name states, Premier Sport 1 has specialized on airing content related to sports, with disciplines such as football, basketball, American football, mixed martial arts, baseball, and more. While there have been some domestic competitions covered on this channel, most of its content has had to do with leagues from other countries and continental tournaments.
Speaking about football, Premier Sport 1 has made a name for itself by broadcasting leagues such as the English Premier League and the Scottish Premier League. When it comes to international football, UEFA Champions League matches have also been available on Premier Sport 1. Repeat broadcasts of past games have been available on the channel since its launch.
Premier Sport 1 was launched as a High-Definition channel, although a downscaled version of the channel has been developed for users who do not have access to that technology. Added to its availability in the Czech Republic, users can also watch this channel in Slovakia via some pay-tv carriers.
