About
10 history, coverage, features
Network 10, also known as Channel 10 or simply "10," is the primary channel of Network 10, a free-to-air Australian network of the same name. As such, 10 is accessible via terrestrial, satellite, cable, and streaming platforms, meaning viewers do not need a specific cable, satellite, or streaming subscription to watch the channel.10 is a multichannel that broadcasts in standard definition, but there is also a separate channel called 10 HD that simulcasts 10’s programming in high definition. Both channels broadcast sports events under the 10 Sport brand; however, sports coverage has seen a decline since the Paramount takeover.
One of 10’s earliest ventures into sports was its agreement with Nine Network and Foxtel to broadcast the Australian Football League. Over the years, the channel has built a strong reputation for broadcasting domestic fixtures, as well as matches involving the men’s and women’s national teams, and various Asian competitions.
This includes the A-League Men and Women, the AFC Champions League Elite, and more. It is important to note that broadcast rights deals dictate the events Network 10 can televise each year, and these rights are subject to change.
In addition to football, 10 has aired a variety of other prominent sporting events, including the Olympic Games, Winter Olympics, Rugby World Cup, Formula One World Championship, Commonwealth Games, Indian Premier League, and more.
The free-to-air channel is available on Network 10-owned and operated stations, as well as other regional stations. Additionally, viewers can access 10 on 10Play, the network’s streaming service, and it was previously included in 10 All Access, which later became Paramount+ in mid-2021.
Below are details on 10Play:
10Play, also known as 10 Play, is an Australian streaming service run by Network 10 and owned by Paramount Networks UK & Australia. Launched in September 2013, it is a free service supported by advertisements.
The introduction of 10Play in late 2013 marked the replacement of the network’s previous catch-up TV service. Initially named TenPlay, it became Australia’s third-ever TV catch-up service, following PLUS7 and FIX7. The platform retained the TenPlay name until October 2018, when it officially became known as 10Play. In late 2024, the rebranding of the streaming service from 10Play to simply “10” was announced, with this taking effect in mid-2025.
10Play allows viewers to access all of Network 10’s linear broadcast channels, including the option to livestream the primary channel starting in January 2016. This also encompasses 10 Sport, making 10Play a hub for sports programming.
The platform features a variety of football competitions, such as the A-League Women, the Australian Cup, and the Saudi Pro League. It’s important to note that the football tournaments available on the streaming service are determined by broadcast rights agreements, which may change over time.
In addition to football, 10Play also showcases other sports, including MMA and basketball. The platform broadcasts in both SD and HD; however, the streaming quality may vary based on the internet connection, the specific program, and the device being used. 10Play is accessible on a wide range of devices, including PCs, laptops, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and more.
