BHT 1 history, coverage, features
BHT 1 is a free-to-air television channel located in Bosnia and Herzegovina.The channel is owned and operated by Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) and is available to everyone who pays for a TV license in the country.
BHT 1 was first launched as the national broadcaster of Bosnia and Herzegovina back in 2004. It replaced previous iterations of the channel, which can be traced back to 1961 when it was called RTV Sarajevo.
The general programming on the channel has largely stayed the same over the years, with a focus on providing viewers with news updates and entertainment programming in the form of talk shows, drama series and live sport.
Football has played a role in shaping BHT 1 over the years. The national broadcaster has previously owned the rights to all matches involving the Bosnian national football team, including World Cup and European Championship qualifiers.
The channel also regularly airs sports magazine shows, which focus on the wider sporting landscape in the country.
Live football coverage on the channel comes with Bosnian-language match commentary as standard, on top of pre-match build-up and post-match analysis.
In addition to being available on linear television in Bosnia and Herzegovina, viewers can also stream the channel via the BHRT BA website, which can be accessed for free via all popular web browsers in the country.
