Paramount+ is a streaming service owned by Paramount Global, primarily operating in the USA, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and other key markets. Launched in 2014, the platform began in Australia under the name 10 All Access in 2018, offering programming from CBS and Australia’s Network 10.

In 2021, 10 All Access rebranded to Paramount+ following the re-merger of CBS Corporation and Viacom. This transition introduced CBS All Access and Showtime original programs, as well as films from Paramount Pictures and the extensive library content of ViacomCBS.

Sports have also become a key focus for the streaming platform, with Paramount+ streaming significant domestic football competitions, including matches featuring both Australia’s men’s and women’s national teams.

Paramount+ was established in Australia in 2021, with the streaming service securing a five-year deal for the A-League and W-League rights in time for its launch. This agreement allowed the platform to showcase the country’s top-flight men’s and women’s leagues beginning in the 2021-22 season, alongside Network 10, successfully outbidding competitors like Nine Network and its streaming service, Stan.

In the summer of 2024, Paramount Australia, the parent company of Network 10 and Paramount+, acquired the broadcasting rights for all games involving the Australian women’s national team (the Matildas) and the men’s team (the Socceroos) through 2028. This deal ensured Paramount+ the rights to important events such as the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, and the Women’s Football Olympic Tournament at the LA 2028 Summer Olympics.

For the men’s team, Paramount+ gained rights to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia and all AFC Asian Qualifiers, which include the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Although the platform did not secure rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, it obtained the rights to the Australia Cup Finals from 2025 to 2028.

Consequently, Paramount+ has become the home of top-tier Australian football for a substantial part of the 2020s. However, it’s important to note that broadcast rights are subject to change, which can impact what Paramount+ can stream.

Paramount+ is compatible with most internet-connected devices and can be accessed through its official website on PCs and Macs or via the Paramount+ app. The app is available for download on mobile devices, smart TVs, select set-top boxes, streaming players, and game consoles.
