Another Derby d'Italia is in store as Juventus and Inter meet up, with the Coppa Italia semi-finals taking place on Tuesday. The two sides come into this tie in vastly different states, with Inter succumbing to a frustrating 1-0 loss to Fiorentina while Juventus earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona. In addition, Juventus recently beat Inter in their last meeting, thus making it wins both home and away in Serie A, and currently are on a three game winning streak in the league. By contrast, Inter are on a three match losing streak and have lost four of their last five in Serie A.
The uptick in form for Juventus has helped the Bianconeri narrow the gap on a top four spot to just six points. Overall, Massimiliano Allegri's side have won eight of their last nine games across all competitions, and thus are hopeful of potentially securing a European football spot following their 15 point deduction for financial irregularities. It's set to be a hectic April for Juventus, who are also in action in the Europa League with two games in this season's quarter-finals against Sporting CP coming up soon.
Meanwhile, Inter will be keen on finding their footing after a bad spell that has seen them now scrambling to hang on to a top-four spot. At the moment, the Nerazzurri sit in fourth spot, but only barely, with Roma also tied on 50 points and a recently resurgent Juventus closing the gap. Like Juventus, Inter are also involved in European action, and also will face Portuguese opposition in the form of Benfica in the quarter-finals. As such, Simone Inzaghi's men also have a very busy month ahead, meaning that the Italian tactician will need to manage his squad efficiently as his team look to turn their flagging fortunes around.
