Bastian Schweinsteiger, Bayern's engine, received a hero's welcome upon coming back to the pitch in midweek when Pep Guardiola subbed the captain, Philipp Lahm and in turn ensured that Basti returned with the captain's armband. The Bayern fans reveled in their hero's return but there are questions about how long he can keep going after a continuous run of injuries.
Obviously, lips started uttering "Fussballgott" around the stadium in order to show respect and love for the man who missed the most important penalty of the UEFA Champions League Final in 2012:
