About Ligat Ha'Al

The Israeli Ligat Ha'Al is the country's top professional football league. The competition was created in 1999, and 16 teams currently contest it. At the end of the season, the league's highest team enters the UEFA Champions League qualification stages in the upcoming season. However, the bottom two teams get relegated to the Liga Leumit. Maccabi Tel Aviv is the most successful Israeli football club with 20 titles. They are also the current champions.
