Lotus FM history, coverage, features
Lotus FM is a South African radio station owned and operated by the South African Broadcasting Corporation. It was first launched back in 1983 under the name Radio Lotus, but it was rebranded years later. The station’s offices are located in Durban, and it has been known over the years for aiming its broadcasts to the Indian South African Community.
Just like other South African radio stations, Lotus FM has dedicated most of its airtime to broadcast music. Added to that, the radio station has also included news segments, current affairs shows, entertainment programs, and interview shows. The station’s major target audience has mostly been directed to people between 25 and 34 years of age.
Lotus FM has been available on the South African FM band since its inception, but in recent years the station has also been available for users to listen to on the internet via the station’s website or via satellite radio services and apps.
