About
Nova Action history, coverage, features
Nova Action is a free-to-air television channel from the Czech Republic that is owned and operated by TV Nova sro. The channel was launched on July 14, 2012 under the name Fanda TV, but it would be rebranded in 2017 to Nova Action. The channel is part of a network that has included up to six channels that offer a variety of content for viewers all over the country.
Since its days as Fanda TV, the channel has focused mostly on airing content to satisfy a younger male audience, although there are shows that reach a larger demographic. The channel has aired TV series, movies, documentaries, sports, animation shows, and more. While most of the content aired on this channel has been produced abroad, there have been some shows that have been produced within the Czech borders.
Speaking about sports, Nova Action has covered disciplines such as football, basketball, hockey, boxing, tennis, mixed martial arts, and more. Most of the content aired on this channel has had to do with international competitions, although some local tournaments have also been aired on this network. When it comes to football, Nova Action has covered tournaments such as Ligue 1 and international club tournaments like the UEFA Europa League, to name a few. In fact, the network revealed that one of the largest audiences in channel history came thanks to a UEFA Europa League clash in the first days of the network’s existence.
Nova Action was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition channel was developed and eventually launched on March 8, 2013. Both feeds may still be available in most regions of the country.
