DMAX is a Turkish television channel which is owned and operated by Discovery Communications. It was launched on March 17, 2018 to fill the spot left by NTV Sports, a channel that operated between 2008 and 2018. DMAX is considered as a distant sister channel to Eurosport, one of the most popular sports TV channels in Europe.
Over the years, DMAX has focused on airing content that might have a stronger appeal to male audiences. Such content might include documentaries, sports broadcasts, TV series, movies, and video game competitions. Added to that, the network has also included shows related to some of the strangest jobs in the world, which have increased its popularity as an interesting alternative to the usual programming in TV.
Speaking about sports, DMAX has aired content related to football, wrestling, oil wrestling, tennis, and swimming. The competitions covered by the channel have included both domestic and international competitions. When it comes to football, DMAX has aired Major League Soccer games since its launch.
DMAX was initially aired as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was launched later, working as a mirror to the content aired on the SD feed. Both options may be available in select pay-tv carriers across Turkish soil and in neighboring countries such as Azerbaijan and Cyprus.
