Channel 4 has been awarded free-to-air Women’s FA Cup broadcast rights in the UK from the start of the 2025-26 season until 2027-28. Channel 4’s live Women’s FA Cup coverage in the UK includes the competition’s early rounds. Channel 4’s agreement with the FA allows pay-television networks to include the Women’s FA Cup in their portfolio, hinting at a non-exclusive deal, giving the free-to-air terms.

Match highlights are expected aside from live games. Fans in the UK can stream the Women’s FA Cup live on Channel 4’s website or the official Channel 4 app, formerly known as All 4, compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices.

The broadcast package from the previous British rights holder, the BBC, which ended at the end of the 2024-25 season, included live Women’s FA Cup matches from the fourth round, fifth round, quarterfinal and semifinal stages, and the final.

Channel 4 is a public, free-to-air British television network. It is owned by Channel Four Television Corporation, a branch of the Department for Digital Culture, Media, and Sport. The channel was launched on November 2, 1982 as a fourth television service in the United Kingdom along with BBC One, BBC Two and ITV. This channel as originally a subsidiary of the Independent Broadcasting Authority. The channel’s headquarters are located in Leeds.

Channel 4 broadcasts shows from independent companies, which made them the first TV channel in the UK to do so on a large scale. During the late 90s, Channel 4 aired some of the most popular shows in the United States such as Friends or ER, which made their debut in the UK via this channel. 

In the new millennium, Channel 4 aired reality shows such as Big Brother, which became the second most watched show in this channel’s history. On top of it all, the channel acquired broadcasting rights to air sports such as cricket and horse racing. In recent years, Channel 4 has added a comedy segment, films, current affairs shows, and religious programs.

Channel 4 launched an HD feed on December 10, 2007 which is still available on pay-tv carriers. Users tuning Channel 4 via the free-to-air grid will only have access to the SD feed.
