The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, commonly referred to as CBC, is a public broadcaster which operates in Canada. It is the oldest existing broadcasting network in Canada, with its radio division being founded in 1936, while their television branch was officially launched in 1952.

This channel broadcasts in both English and French language, while its domestic radio service offers broadcasts in eight aboriginal languages. The main difference between this TV station and privately owned channels is that CBC has always aired more shows produced domestically. The English-language feed is called CBC Television, while the French feed is called ICI Radio-Canada Tele. This channel’s feed can be viewed on High Definition in most of Canada’s territory.

In the past, CBC’s offer to their audience has included distinct sports such as baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer and many more. Some of the most notable events covered by this channel include the Summer and Winter Olympics, with special emphasis on Canadian athletes. Added to that, CBC has also covered FIFA World Cups, while also adding coverage of domestic leagues such as the MLS. CBC’s website offers a wide variety of services, including live radio, TV broadcasts, news, music and a live TV feed, which can only be streamed in Canada.

It also offers a video service to watch on-demand sport highlights, adding the company’s scheduling for viewers to consider.

CBC is a free-to-air channel, which makes it available in all regions of the country. Furthermore, some cable companies close to the border between Canada and the U.S. carry this channel. Radio streaming services may also offer CBC’s radio broadcasts.
