About Canal+ Premium
Canal+ Premium is a Polish television channel owned and operated by Canal+ Polska. After a brief period of tests, it was officially launched on March 21, 1995 un,der the name Canal+. That name would still be used until 2020 whn it was changed to Canal+ Premium. The channel is considered to be the Polish variation of the French channel, as the programming, continuity and presentation of both channels are quite similar. It has frequently been named as the network’s flagship channel, especially after the network added a catch-up channel centered around Canal+ Premium’s signal, called Canal+ 1.
Over the years, Canal+ Premium has been labeled as a general entertainment channel, with TV series, documentaries, movies, sports, and even news broadcasts being aired on the channel. While some of its content has been produced in other countries, Canal+ Premium encourages in-house productions, which have led the channel to collect several awards for their involvement in the production and distribution of TV series.
Speaking about sports, Canal+ Premium has owned several broadcasting rights to some of the top sports events in the world. The channel has focused on broadcasting team sports such as football, basketball, slag, and rugby, but other sports such as tennis, golf, mixed martial arts, and equestrian competitions have also found space in the channel’s programming.
When it comes to football, Canal+ Premium has aired tournaments such as La Liga, the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga, the French Ligue 1, and the Polish Ekstraklasa, to name a few. International tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League have also been covered on this network.
Canal+ Premium started out as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was added to improve the user’s viewing experience. Both feeds remain available in the country via select pay-tv carriers.

![]() | Spain - La Liga (2018-2021) Canal Plus Poland (nc+) has acquired the non-exclusive multi-platform broadcasting rights for Spain's La Liga live matches in Poland for a period of three years, running from the 2018-19 season until the 2020-21 season. The rights will be shared with Eleven Sports Poland.
