beIN Sports MAX Malaysia is part of a global sports network owned and operated by the beIN Media Group. BeIN Sports 1, the flagship channel of the network, was launched in Malaysia in 2013, with beIN Sports 3 being launched in the early months of 2015.
As its name states, beIN Sports MAX Malaysia covers some of the top sports events taking place all over the world. The focus of the channel has been to air football content to its viewers, but disciplines such as tennis, handball, basketball, motorsports, and more have been made available to its users over the years.
When it comes to football, beIN Sports MAX Malaysia has aired content from leagues such as La Liga, the English Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, and other top-tier football categories from Europe, although its main function has been to act as an overflow channel to beIN Sports 3 when UEFA Champions League games and UEFA Europa League matches are taking place. American leagues such as the MLS and the Brasileirao have also found airtime on this channel.
When beIN Sports MAX Malaysia was launched, the channel was only available in Standard Definition. As time went by, a High-Definition feed was made available to the network’s users.
