Broadcast Rights

Competitions available on SRF zwei

SRF will show the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Switzerland on free-to-air television, with coverage centred on SRF 1 and other SRF TV slots as scheduled, while live streaming is available through srf.ch/sport, the SRF Sport app and Play SRF. SRF has confirmed live coverage of all 104 matches for German-speaking audiences in Switzerland, with almost all matches also carried on television.
Public broadcaster SRG SSR has secured non-exclusive multi-language broadcast rights to the UEFA Champions League in Switzerland until 2027. The free-to-air network signed a three-year deal with UEFA and a sub-licensing contract with paid TV provider Blue Sport. This arrangement covers the 2024-25 to the 2026-27 Champions League seasons and includes the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.
SRG SSR has acquired non-exclusive free-to-air UEFA Europa League broadcast rights in Switzerland from 2024 to 2027. The public broadcaster secured a three-year arrangement with UEFA as well as a sub-licensing contract with commercial network Blue Sport. Under the terms of its partnership, SRG SSR provides multi-lingual coverage of select Europa League matches.
A selection of UEFA Nations League matches, including all matches featuring the Swiss national team, are available to watch via SRG SSR in Switzerland. More specifically, action is shown live on one of SRG SSR’s free-to-air linear channels in Switzerland, and the Play Suisse app, which is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices.
Fans in Switzerland can watch select UEFA Conference League matches live for free on SRG SSR’s German-language network SRF, French-language network RTS, and Italian-language network RSI. This is made possible by a sublicensing agreement with Switzerland’s exclusive UEFA Conference League broadcaster, Blue, securing free-to-air rights for the 2024-25 to 2026-27 cycle.
SRG SSR owns the broadcast rights to select matches from the Women's World Cup in Switzerland. The public-service broadcasting groups secured the rights ahead of the 2025-26 season, and the agreement runs until the end of the 2029-30 campaign. As part of the deal, all matches featuring Swiss teams are shown on SRG SSR's flagship free-to-air linear TV channel, SRF1.
The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, more commonly known as SRG SSR, has secured exclusive free-to-air rights in Switzerland for the Swiss Super League, while Blue Sport holds exclusive pay-TV rights to the Swiss top flight. Both broadcast deals began in the 2025-26 season and run until the 2029-30 season.

About

SRF zwei history, coverage, features

SRF zwei is a Swiss free-to-air channel owned and operated by the Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen. The channel was launched on September 1, 1997 as SF2, but it was later rebranded as as SF zwei in 2005. It would go through one more rebranding in 2012, when it acquired its current name. SRF zwei replaced the channels S Plus and Schweiz 4 and broadcasts most of its content in German.

SRF zwei has aimed its shows towards a younger audience, with special focus on movies, TV series, sporting events, and entertainment programs. Most of the content in the channel may also be available in its original language, especially when the shows were initially aired in the United States.

Speaking about sports, SRF zwei has built a reputation for hosting most games featuring the Swiss National Team. International competitions covered by this channel include the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Euro, the UEFA Nations League, the UEFA Euro, and international friendlies featuring the Swiss side. Added to that, the network has also broadcast club competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Swiss First Division.

SRF zwei has also covered other sports such as tennis. The channel has focused its coverage of this sport when Davis Cup and Fed Cup games featuring the Swiss team have been played.

The channel has offered viewers two different feeds: an SD feed, which goes back to the first days of the network, and an HD feed launched on February 29, 2012. Both these feeds are still available on select pay-tv carriers in the country.
