Broadcast Rights

Competitions available on Globo

Globo holds non-exclusive 2026 FIFA World Cup rights in Brazil, with coverage on TV Globo and SporTV and streaming through Globoplay and ge.globo. TV Globo coverage is free-to-air, while SporTV and some Globoplay access require a pay-TV or streaming subscription.
In Brazil, UEFA Nations League matches are live on Globo. Each matchweek, select games are shown live across channels on their network, including SporTV, SporTV2, SporTV3, and SporTV4, while some games are streamed live on Globoplay. Globo is a subscription-based service in Brazil, meaning fans must pay monthly to watch the Nations League’s live, delayed, repeat and online on-demand broadcasts.
The Brasileirão Serie A is broadcast on TV Globo’s free-to-air network under a deal running from 2025-26 to 2028-29, following an agreement between the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and two club associations, LIBRA and LFU. This contract gives Globo the rights to air a limited number of matches per season, with at least three exclusive games per round available on free-to-air television.
Globo holds exclusive Copa do Brasil broadcast rights in Brazil in a deal spanning the 2023 to 2026 seasons. As a result, fans in Brazil can watch the majority of Copa do Brasil matches live on Globo networks, including pay-TV sports network SporTV. It should be noted that while Globo secured the exclusive rights to the Copa do Brazil, the broadcaster sublicensed 54 games per season to Amazon Prime Video, 40 of which are exclusive.
Globo broadcasts at least two Copa Libertadores matches per week live in Brazil, following a four-year deal with CONMEBOL that runs from 2023 through the end of the 2026 edition. The free-to-air network offers Portuguese-language coverage of the South American competition through its own television channels.
In Brazil, SporTV shows the King's Cup live as part of a broadcast deal arranged with IMG. The knockout tournament is included in the same package that delivers Saudi Pro League and Saudi Super Cup matches to the channel.

All King's Cup fixtures are televised on SporTV's linear service. Online streaming through Globo's GE TV YouTube outlet is excluded because Goat controls the digital rights for Brazil.
SporTV broadcasts the Saudi Pro League live in Brazil under a rights deal brokered by IMG, the league's commercial partner. The package covers two matches per gameweek, along with the King's Cup and the Saudi Super Cup.

All Saudi Pro League games are restricted to SporTV's linear channels. Globo is not permitted to show Saudi Pro League matches on its GE TV YouTube channel because Goat holds the digital rights in Brazil.
SporTV televises the Saudi Super Cup live in Brazil under the IMG-brokered agreement. The competition opens the domestic season and is carried alongside the Saudi Pro League and King's Cup within the same rights package.

Broadcasts are limited to SporTV's linear channels. Globo cannot place Saudi Super Cup coverage on GE TV's YouTube platform, with digital rights held separately by Goat.

About

Globo history, coverage, features

Globo is a free-to-air television network available in Brazil. The network was launched back in April 1965 by Roberto Marinho, and up until 2021, it was formally known as Rede Globo. Grupo Globo now owns the network.

Within the Globo network is the national television channel, TV Globo, which launched at the same time as the network.

TV Globo’s programming traditionally focuses on news and general entertainment shows, including talk shows and reality television. Although sport plays less of a role in their programming, regular sports magazine shows have featured on the channel, including ‘Bora Pro Jogo’ and ‘Auto Esporte’.

TV Globo also has a history of owning the broadcast rights to several top football competitions. Over the years, matches from the German Bundesliga, the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA World Cup have appeared on the channel.

Live football coverage on Globo comes with Portuguese-language match commentary as standard, most commonly from renowned Brazilian commentator, Roger Flores.

In addition to being available on free-to-air television in Brazil, football fans in the country can stream the channel via Globoplay. This streaming platform is available online via all popular web browsers and via an app, which can be downloaded for free onto smartphones, tablets and all other compatible devices.
