Sporting Clube de Portugal, commonly known as Sporting CP or Sporting, is a Portuguese professional football club based in Lisbon. It was founded in 1906 and is nicknamed “The Lions” by its supporters. Sporting CP plays all its home games at the Estádio José Alvalade, which seats about 50,095 people in its current format.
Sporting CP is among the most successful clubs in Portugal and ranks third in terms of titles won (behind Benfica and Porto). Many notable players started out at Sporting, in particular the likes of Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo. The team’s biggest rivals are arguably Benfica and Porto, with the three sides being nicknamed “The Big Three” due to their overwhelming dominance of the Portuguese football landscape for decades.
Sporting CP’s official streaming channel is Sporting TV, which provides on-demand streaming coverage of Sporting-related content. This includes key game highlights, press conferences, behind-the-scenes footage of training sessions, interviews with coaches and players, news, documentaries, and more.
