The pay-TV satellite network’s contract runs from 2024-25 to 2026-27 and allows Japanese fans to watch live Champions League games on WOWOW from the group stages to the final. TV broadcasts are shown in full HD on WOWOW’s linear channels, including WOWOW Live, WOWOW Cinema, and WOWOW Prime.
The Champions League on WOWOW in Japan has an extensive catalog of additional content besides live matches. Subscribers can watch on-demand programs like match replays, pre- and post-game shows, and game highlights. Subscribers can select various packages, including a monthly subscription that contains 141 Champions League games per season (96 from the league phase and all 45 matches from the knockout phase). Users in Japan can stream all 189 UEFA Champions League games live by purchasing additional matchday passes encompassing matchdays one through eight. Each matchday pass from WOWOW includes six games (48 league phase matches total).
