TRT Avaz history, coverage, features
TRT Avaz is a Turkish television channel owned and operated by the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation. It was launched on March 21, 2009 as a replacement to TRT Türk, another international channel owned by the Turkish TV corporation.
Unlike most of its sister channels, TRT Avaz has broadcast content in several languages to reach a wider audience. Some of the languages that have been used in this international channel include Azeri, Bosnian, Turkmen, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Uzbek. Turkish subtitles have been used on the channel whenever needed to help users who don’t speak any of the languages mentioned earlier.
Over the years, TRT Avaz has been categorized as an entertainment channel. Some of the broadcasts aired on this network have included documentaries, talk shows, soap operas, cultural shows, music programs, and even tutorials to help users speak Turkish. The channel’s “surname” Avaz fits its approach just fine, as the word means “voice” in that language.
The channel has only been available in Standard Definition since its launch.
