Cosmote Sport 8 is a Greek pay television channel owned and operated by the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization, also known as OTE. It was launched in 2013 under the name OTE Sport, a name that would last until 2016, when the channel was rebranded as Cosmote Sport 8. The network includes nine other channels that broadcast sports events all week long.
Over the years, Cosmote Sport 8 has been considered as an overflow channel that has been used to cover football, basketball events, and tennis tournaments. Although the channel has been used to cover those disciplines mostly, other sports may also be available on this channel, depending on how many events to which the network has broadcasting rights are being aired live.
Speaking about football, Cosmote Sport 8 has offered overflow coverage for continental tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. Added to that, games for certain European leagues such as the English Premier League, the Spanish Primera División, and the Bundesliga have also been available to watch on this channel.
Cosmote Sport 8 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed has been launched to improve the viewer’s experience. Both these feeds may be available in most regions of the country.
