About Cosmote Sport 5 HD

Cosmote Sport 5 is a Greek pay television channel owned and operated by the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization, also known as OTE. It was launched on August 29, 2013 under the name OTE Sport, a name that would last until 2016, when the channel was rebranded as Cosmote Sport 5. The network includes nine other channels that broadcast sports events all week long.

Over the years, Cosmote Sport 5 has been considered as the main channel to cover motor sports. It has aired some of the most appealing live events taking place to which the network owns broadcasting rights. While covering those events has been the channel’s focus, Cosmote Sport 5 has also been used as an overflow channel to cover certain football tournaments.

Speaking about football, Cosmote Sport 5 has offered overflow coverage for continental tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. Added to that, games for certain European leagues such as the English Premier League and the Bundesliga have also been available to watch on this channel.

Cosmote Sport 5 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed has been launched to improve the viewer’s experience. Both these feeds may be available in most regions of the country.

	UEFA Champions League (2021-2024) Greek broadcaster Cosmote TV has extended its broadcast rights for the UEFA Champions League in Greece until 2024 after signing a three-year extension. The network provides access to 137 Champions League matches each season, starting from the play-offs all the way to the final. In addition, Cosmote Sport's free channel offers access to one match each Wednesday plus the final.
	UEFA Europa League (2021-2024) Greek paid-TV provider Cosmote TV has extended its broadcast rights to the UEFA Europa League in Greece through the end of the 2023/24 campaign following the signing of a three-year extension. This agreement means that the network broadcasts 141 Europa League matches, beginning from the group stages until the final.
	UEFA Nations League (2018-2022) Cosmote TV owns the multi-platform broadcasting rights in Greece for the UEFA Nations League. In addition, the broadcasting deal also includes live broadcasting of the European qualifiers for the 2020 UEFA Euro Cup and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
	UEFA Europa Conference League (2021-2024) Paid TV provider Cosmote TV has successfully acquired broadcast rights to the UEFA Europa Conference League in Greece until 2024 after signing a three year deal. The network provides coverage of all 141 matches, starting from the inaugural edition in 2021/22 all the way through the 2023/24 edition.
	World Cup Qualifying (2018-2022) Cosmote TV owns the multi-platform broadcasting rights in Greece for the UEFA Nations League. In addition, the broadcasting deal also includes live broadcasting of the European qualifiers for the 2020 UEFA Euro Cup and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
	England - Premier League (2019-2022) Cosmote Sport will broadcast exclusivity 230 matches per season.
	Portugal - Primeira Liga (2020-2023) Greek pay-tv sports broadcaster Cosmote TV has acquired Portugal's Primeira Liga broadcasting rights for Greece for a three-year period commencing with the 2020-21 season up until the 2022-23 season.
