La Liga
Spain - La Liga (2021-2029)
The Walt Disney Company’s sports network ESPN has acquired exclusive rights to the Spanish La Liga in the USA. ESPN’s eight-year deal gives it full access to La Liga’s English- and Spanish-language rights in America through 2029. Signed prior to the 2021/22 season, ESPN’s record-breaking agreement was reported to be worth $175 million per year, totaling about $1,4 billion.
More details Live La Liga matches in USA are expected to be televised on linear ESPN networks, including the flagship ESPN channel and ESPN Deportes, as well as on ABC.

All fixtures are to be aired in high definition both on TV and digital platforms. Detailed match highlights along with analysis and studio programs such as SportsCenter and Fuera de Juego will continuously enrich the viewers experience, every season. This is in addition to game previews, half-time talks, postgame and magazine shows. La Liga content will additionally be distributed on ESPN’s social media pages in USA. Naturally, every La Liga game shown on ESPN will be accessible via partner streaming services in America.

2023-24 season update:

ESPN and LaLiga embark on their third consecutive year of collaboration for the 2023-24 football season. As part of the comprehensive coverage strategy, the network is introducing "La Peña de LALIGA" on ESPN Deportes. This program is tailored to provide an in-depth perspective on the league, offering analyses, debates, and insights featuring notable figures such as Hugo Sanchez and Mario Kempes. On the digital side, ESPN's strategy encompasses a team of reporters based in Spain, ensuring timely coverage of major teams, including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético de Madrid. ESPN has outlined an extensive social media strategy to supplement the broadcast and digital coverage, providing real-time updates and exclusive content across platforms.
BundesligaESPN has acquired multi-platform broadcast rights to the German Bundesliga in USA, which will run from 2020 through 2026. The broacaster will cover every game live on its streaming service ESPN+, whereas its linear TV networks will telecast select Bundesliga games every season. The deal also includes exclusive programs and match highlights.
DFB PokalESPN has announced its multiyear extension with the German Football Association (DFB) to become the exclusive home of the German Cup, also known as the DFB-Pokal, until 2026. This groundbreaking agreement ensures that ESPN+ subscribers can access at least 40 DFB-Pokal matches live each season, streamed exclusively in English.

NCAA Men's SoccerESPN has extended its ownership of the American Athletic Conference's global media rights in a 12-year deal from the 2020-21 season. Under the deal, ESPN may broadcast live college soccer matches on its linear TV networks, as well as on its OTT service ESPN+ in USA. Live match coverage will also be made available on the ESPN App online and on mobile devices.
NCAA Women's SoccerFollowing a 12-year contract extension from the 2020-21 season, ESPN will broadcast NCAA Women's soccer matches on its linear TV networks in USA. ESPN will also stream the matches on its OTT platforms ESPN+ and ESPN App for subscribers on computers, mobile devices, games consoles and smart TVs.

ESPN3 USA History, Coverage, Features

ESPN3 is an American digital network dedicated to sports. It airs thousands of sporting events every year, both live and on demand in high definition. It is owned by ESPN Inc. and is available nationwide. First launched in 2005 as ESPN360.com, the online streaming service went on to become ESPN3.com in 2010, before getting renamed simply as ESPN3 in 2011. It was formerly available on the WatchESPN platform; nevertheless, the latter was phased out in 2019 in favor of the ESPN App. ESPN3 provides exclusive streams for events from various sports, including cricket, golf, soccer and tennis. American college sports have also received decent exposure over the years on the service, with college basketball, college football and NCAA Championships receiving comprehensive coverage.

In addition to its exclusive programming, ESPN3 also grants its subscribers access to content from linear networks, including flagship channel ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews and Spanish-language network ESPN Deportes. Games and programs from these channels may be available to stream on demand after the conclusion of the original airing.

To access ESPN3 streams in USA online on ESPN’s official website, users are required to authenticate themselves via a participating TV provider or partner over-the-top (OTT) service. The list includes AT&T TV Now, AT&T U-verse, Charter Spectrum, Cox, DirecTV, DISH Network, Hulu TV, Optimum, Sling, Suddenlink, Verizon Fios, Vidgo, Xfinity and YouTube TV. Alternatively, subscribers may opt for the ESPN App, which carries streams for all ESPN linear networks and streaming services, including ESPN3 and direct-to-consumer premium service ESPN+.

The ESPN App is available for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In the past ESPN3 has streamed matches from some of soccer’s largest international tournaments, including men’s and women’s FIFA Youth World Cup tournaments (U17 and U20), FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, UEFA Euro Qualifying and UEFA Euro Championship. It has additionally covered major continental club competitions, such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. Subscribers have also had the chance to enjoy live and on-demand streams for prominent soccer leagues around the world, including the German Bundesliga, Mexican Liga MX, U.S. College Soccer and Major League Soccer (MLS).
