The 40-year-old Bremen striker makes history with his strike against Hertha. It was a goal for the ages. At 40 years, four months and 13 days, Claudio Pizarro found the net with a deflected free-kick in the sixth minute of added time at the Olympic Stadium. The previous record was held by ex-Bremen midfielder Mirko Votava, who scored in a Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart at the age of 40 years, three months and one day, in August 1996.
