Things go from bad to worse for Los Blancos as the Spanish giant fell to a 2-1 home defeat.

Things are going from bad to worse for Julen Lopetegui. The Real Madrid manager is already under pressure at Real Madrid, with the team's lack of goals making matters worse.

Adding insult to injury for the Spanish tactician, his Los Blancos broke a 116-year awful record today. This horrible feat occurred during their clash with Levante on Saturday.

The Champions League holder hosted the Valencia-based club in the weekend's early Spanish Primera Division kick-off with the aim of putting their recent winless run to rest. However, the game quickly turned into a nightmare for the Madrid giant.

The home side found themselves 1-0 down after only seven minutes courtesy of poor defending from Raphael Varane. Six minutes later, Levante doubled their lead, with the scoreline being 2-0 at half-time.

Around the 57th-minute mark is when Lopetegui's men made history for all the wrong reason. Having not scored up until then, they set a new record for Real Madrid's longest goal drought.

The previous record had stood for more than a century, but the current batch of players surpassed that figure by going 465 minutes without finding the back of the net. That translates into seven hours and 45 minutes, a run that began four games ago.

The streak eventually came to an end in the 72nd-minute of the game, as Marcelo scored to make it 2-1. However, history had been written by then, with the record now standing at 481 minutes.

Real Madrid would eventually go on to lose that, stretching their winless run to five games. This result will heap more pressure on the manager, with talks of a sacking growing louder by the minute.
