Zlatan Ibrahimovic stepped up to defend Jose Mourinho from what he believes to be undeserved attacks from certain members of the press.
The Swedish striker may have left Manchester United abruptly once the team was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League last season, but that doesn't mean that his relationship with Mourinho changed, as both of them have always praised each other's work, as Zlatan's interview with Sky Sports clearly shows.
According to Zlatan, the Portuguese boss reminds him of his own self, since they are both criticized for the particular way they have around people.
"Everyone takes digs at Mourinho and I don't think it is because of his character, it is fueled due to the way he has of handling himself. I see myself in a similar situation. Both of us are full of confidence, we believe in certain things and we have our way of saying them," Ibrahimovic stated.
The former Man United player blasted those who take their criticism to a personal level, rather than focusing on matters related to Mourinho's job.
"Some pundits exaggerate, they make it personal, and that's wrong. Their criticism is fueled by jealousy, and that's even worse," "Ibra" added.
Then, the LA Galaxy striker aimed a dig at Pep Guardiola, who tries not to get entangled in arguments with the media to escape any conflict that comes his way.
"When guys like us win, we enjoy our victories even more. Our satisfaction is bigger than that of those guys who are too polite and too perfect. We enjoy it more than those guys who don't want to argue with the media so they are never attacked," Ibrahimovic said, re-igniting his feud with Guardiola.
Before the interview concluded, Zlatan sent Jose Mourinho one final message.
"He's there because he does everything just as he knows. He is his own man and nothing will change him. He should never change. He is not the problem, those who think that are perfect have bigger problems," Ibrahimovic concluded.
