After drawing Italy 1-1 in the UEFA Nations League, Poland will take on Ireland in a friendly match on Tuesday, September 11th at 14:45 EST (20:45 CET).

After a disappointing World Cup that saw them crash out of the group stages, Poland are keen on getting back on track in the Nations League. Unfortunately, their hard work that nearly saw them earn what would have been a first-ever win against Italy on Italian soil was erased after they gave up a penalty which allowed the Azzurri to equalize, and with Portugal beating the Italians, Poland now find themselves facing a tricky battle for top spot in their trio.

With matchday two not kicking off until next month, Poland now will have to turn their attention to a upcoming friendly against Ireland. Although the purpose of the Nations League was to reduce the number of friendly ties, it will not eliminate all of them, and this can present a chance for Poland's boss Adam Nawalka to test out new formations and give some other players some minutes without too much pressure.

Ireland, for their part, come into this friendly tie having suffered a humiliating 4-1 drubbing by Wales, during which Real Madrid star Gareth Bale scored a brilliant goal. Like their upcoming hosts, they too will be looking to regroup in this friendly, and will hope to get themselves sorted out ahead of matchday two of the Nations League next month.
