England are on the cusp of sealing a spot in the Nations League finals, but they will have to get the job done over 90 minutes as they take on Croatia, who also have managed to salvage their campaign after a horrendous start.

The last meeting between the two sides finished as a goalless draw. That was the first clash between England and Croatia after the Three Lions were unfortunately knocked out of the World Cup by Croatia, with Mario Mandzukic netting a late goal in extra time to send the Vatreni to the final and breaking Three Lions' fans in Russia and back home in England.

In short, this will be nothing short of a grudge match, especially as it's set to be played at Wembley. Although Spain sit on top of the pile, La Furia Roja have really stumbled recently, and that has truly opened things up in the group. After initially losing to Spain, Gareth Southgate's men beat the same side 3-2 last month to make it four points and rise into second place, thus handing the 2010 World Cup winners their first loss of their Nations League campaign and blowing the group wide open.

Meanwhile, Croatia, who were humiliated 6-0 back in September by Spain, got a little bit of revenge on La Furia Roja by beating them 3-2 recently to also increase their total to four points. With Spain having completed their campaign, all they can do is now nervously sit and wait - and hope that the game between England and Croatia finishes as a draw to make sure they are the ones to go through to the Nations League finals.

Of course, England know their fate is firmly in their hands, and a win would see them through. Croatia, meanwhile, could also secure their spot after roaring to life recently, and Zlatko Dalic's side would love nothing but to silence what will be a packed Wembley by snatching a spot in the Nations League finals and sending the Three Lions packing to League B.
