The Belgian footballer does not believe he should be the one to take the trophy home.

Eden Hazard has been considered as one of the best players of the year, but even if experts agree about his chances of taking home the coveted Ballon D'Or, the Belgian ace has played down all possibilites of taking the trophy home.

Speaking in an interview with a Belgian radio station, Hazard denied having what it takes to win the award.

"I don't deserve to win the Ballon D'Or. Even if I had quite a good year, I have to be honest and keep my feet on the ground: I don't deserve it. I believe it in my heart that there are players that deserve it more for what they did on the pitch," Hazard stated.

The talented playmaker led Belgium to their best result in a FIFA World Cup, where the Red Devils finished in third position.

Asked about who should win the award, Hazard believes it's time for a change of guard, hinting that in his opinion, neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi should win the award.

"If you consider all the things he's done since his debut, then my vote would go for Kylian Mbappé," Hazard concluded.
