The Italian footballer had been linked with top-caliber clubs from France and England, but he's finally decided where he will keep on playing.

Mario Balotelli experienced a re-birth of his career while playing for the modest Ligue 1 side Nice. The footballer recovered his goalscoring instinct and was even called up to play for Italy in the past few months.

With that in mind, the Italian striker decided to extend his contract with the red and black side, rather than joining other clubs such as Olympique Marseille, which was also set to land a deal with the controversial footballer.

The announcement by Nice came during Monday's late hours, and in true Balotelli fashion, it was the club that ended up revealing the striker's contract extension, which will see "Super Mario" returning for a third season with The Eaglets.

"Mario Balotelli chose. And it's OGC Nice!"

Added to their initial announcement, the club posted yet another tweet with "Super Mario" posing with his "new" team.

"Good day to all of you!"

The striker has scored 43 goals in 66 apps for the French side.
