The Belgian midfielder's new comments has cast doubt on his future at Chelsea.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid although he has declared that an imminent switch is not on the cards. The 27-year-old is said to be on the radar of the European champions and has been tipped to be the successor of Cristiano Ronaldo who departed for Juventus earlier this summer.

Hazard himself, having led Belgium to the bronze medal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, expressed his desire to move away from Chelsea but the Blues were not interested in parting ways with their star forward who still has two years left on his current contract.

The stance of the London club remains the same and Real Madrid – who successfully brought Thibaut Courtois to the Bernabeu before the end of the English transfer window – would have to wait a bit longer if they fancy the idea of securing the service of Eden Hazard.

Speaking in an interview with RMC Sport, the Chelsea forward put the speculation of an imminent exit to bed but kept the door open for a switch to Real Madrid in the near future open.

"Everybody knows what I have said after the World Cup," he declared.

"But I'm happy here. I don't want to talk about it yet. A lot has been said, but at the moment I'm happy.

"I have two years left on my contract and we'll see what happens," Hazard added.

"Leaving this year? I won't go.

"We have seen today that the fans quite like me. I'm good where I am. Let's see what happens in one or two years."
