The Chilean midfielder seeked a long-term deal to continue his career, and Barcelona offered him the kind of agreement he wanted.

Barcelona and Bayern München have finally dotted the i's and crossed the t's in Arturo Vidal's deal, and pending a medical set to take place in the next couple of days, the two-time Copa América winner with Chile will join the current La Liga champions on a three-year deal.

Barcelona released a statement as soon as both parties reached the deal, which will see the Chilean midfielder joining Barcelona as soon as Los Culés pay Bayern $22 million.

"FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Arturo Vidal. The agreement is for the next three seasons and is pending the medical examination that the player will undertake over the course of the next few days."

"FC Barcelona will shortly inform everyone about the arrival of the player and the agenda of the presentation ceremony," the short press release states.

Added to his two Copa América titles, Vidal's resume includes league titles in the Chilean top flight (three with Colo Colo), four with Juventus and three more with Bayern. In fact, all of Vidal's teams have won the title of their respecrtive leagues in the past seven seasons.
