The Chilean midfielder is on the verge of joining the Catalans this season.

Bayern Munich's Arturo Vidal is on the brink of completing a sensational move to Barcelona. The 31-year-old was initially identified as a transfer target for Inter Milan but negotiations between the player and the Italian club has stalled in recent days after the latter turned its attention to pursue Real Madrid's Luka Modric.

According to The Guardian, Barcelona is keen on bringing Vidal to Spain and has, as a result, swooped in with an offer in the region of 27 million pounds. The former Juventus man has already agreed to personal terms with the Catalans and Bayern Munich's new manager Niko Kovac has given the player the freedom to depart.

Should Vidal complete his move to Barcelona, the Spanish league champions will take their spending in this summer transfer window to 100 million, Ernesto Valverde's side has already slplashed out cash to complete moves for Clement Lenglet and Brazil-duo Arthur and Malcom following the departure of Andres Iniesta, Paulinho and Lucas Digne.

Barcelona is also reportedly closing in on Eupen's Senegalese teenage fullback Moussa Wague who impressed at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

**Update: Arturo Vidal to Barcelona is a done deal, according to Sky Italia's Fabrizio Romano. The midfilder is now subject to a medical and an official presentation in the coming days.
