The incident took place during the first training session ahead of Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen

Things are not going the way Real Madrid's players were expecting, and Sergio Ramos' reaction to a casual clash with one of his team-mates says it all.

During today's training session ahead of the Champions League clash against Viktoria Plzen, Real Madrid's players were joking around while playing handball. Ramos was holding the ball, but left back Sergio Reguilón tried to take the ball away from the captain with a reckless move. Things got out of hand when Ramos reacted angrily and hit the homegrown player twice with the ball.

Ramos' reaction caused the game to end, and as all players walked away, Ramos hit Reguilón once again.

Maybe aware of all the backlash that was coming his way, Ramos took it to Twitter to apologize for this incident, while trying to offer Reguilón an olive branch.

"Even though it may not seem that way, this sort of thing happens a lot. But there's no excuse, I should have reacted differently. We always give it all, right "Regui"? In the end we won! Let's put this behind us and let's win the game tomorrow. #HalaMadrid
