The Frenchman has had his say on the supposed rift existing been hm and his club manager.

Manchester United's Anthony Martial has come out to clear the air about his supposed poor relationship with Jose Mourinho. The Frenchman looked certain to leave United after his agent admitted that he was on the lookout for a new club back in June.

This was as a result of an apparent fallout involving him and the Portuguese manager. After getting less playing time and spending a considerable period on the sidelines following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, the 22-year-old forward was reportedly not interested in playing under the former Chelsea boss.

With that underlining his dissatisfaction with Jose Mourinho, Martial subsequently caused a stir by going AWOL during the pre-season following the birth of his son. Nonetheless, the storm has gradually settled in recent times with the former AS Monaco starlet breaking into the starting XI once again.

The effect of the forward's new-found form was seen in the 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle before the international break has he managed to register a goal. The Frenchman then added to his tally by scoring all the goals in Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday.

Speaking at the end of the proceeding, Martial put all the rumors to bed by insisting that a healthy relationship existed between him and Jose Mourinho.

"Things were not tense between us, to begin with [before the performance at Chelsea].

"We have a player-coach relationship and I hope that we will continue like that and bring Manchester United as much as possible."

On the subject of the turn of events in the encounter with Chelsea, he added: "We were not doing well. "However, we worked hard and this sort of match enabled us to show that we are a good team.

"We want to continue with another good game against Juventus on Tuesday.

"[The goals] have done me the world of good. "However, ultimately, I am disappointed. We deserved to win but we shipped the goal in the last minute and it cost us."

Anthony Martial has scored four goals in nine appearances across all competitions for Manchester United this season.
