The Danish Football Union had to call up uncapped players to complete the team that's set to play Wales on Sunday.

The UEFA Nations League is right around the corner, and Denmark will not have their best players around due to a dispute with the Danish Football Union(DBU).

Problems between the DBU and the footballers began due to the team's execs desire to exploit the players' image rights, making most players angry and getting them in trouble with their sponsors. Negotiations between both parties began right after the World Cup, but no agreement has been reached between them, which forced the Danish Federation to call up players from the second and third tier divisions.

In fact, members of the Danish National Futsal team were called up to complete the squad, which will have John Jensen as its interim manager.

In the last few hours, Tottenham's ace and team leader Christian Eriksen stepped up to ask his team-mates to put this strike on hold for a month, in order to be around to play for the Danish Dynamite. In a short press release, Eriksen admitted that negotiations have been tough, but all footballers have to understand that their nation's pride is at stake if they don't play the upcoming games due to this dispute.

"We have to solve this conflict now, not try and hide in the trenches. Let's extend the previous deal for one month. There's no reason for the DBU not to accept this offer. If they sign, all of us will get on a plane and play for Denmark," Eriksen's press release states.

"We could all be home with our kids and wives, or training with our club, but we love playing for Denmark. We're delighted to represent all Danish footballers, and we are eager to continue doing so for the DBU and all their sponsors as we've done before," the document adds.

Negotiations are expected to continue this week, even if the team gets ready to play Slovakia in a friendly game tomorrow and with their Nations League debut to take place.
