He is going nowhere!

Juventus midfield ace Miralem Pjanic has put every speculation about his future to bed by signing a contract extension. The 28-year-old's new deal will see him ply his service for the Turin side up until 2023, the club's official website confirmed.

Prior to putting pen to paper, the Bosnian midfielder was reportedly on the radar of both Barcelona and Manchester City with his current club even blocking advances made by the latter in this summer transfer window. He was supposedly earmaked by Pep Guardiola to be the replacement of Napoli's Jorginho who ditched the Citizens to rejoin Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.

Pjanic, since arriving from AS Roma in 2016, has been instrumental in the success of a Juventus side that has seen the disintegration of a core midfield of Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo in recent years. The Bianconeri No. 5, over the last two seasons in the Serie A, leads every teammate of his with regards to the number of chances created (120) and assists (17).

The player, who is mostly known for his unique ability from set-pieces, also had a decent return in the goal and assist return last season, amassing five apiece in 31 appearances. Following the confirmation of his new deal, Pjanic took to his Twitter account to express his excitement for committing his future to the reigning champions of the Serie A.
