With his future with Chelsea under question, The Special One could be set for one more spell with Los Blancos.

8 losses in 15 games has many wondering when the axe will finally fall on Jose Mourinho’s time at Chelsea, but the Portuguese boss’ future already appears to be set, nonetheless.

The Blues manager has endured turbulent times this campaign, as the reigning English Premier League champions sit two points above the relegation zone, in 15th spot.

The London giants had to wait until their very last group game to book their spot in the Champions League round of 16, as they beat Porto 2-0 at home to ease the pressure off the manager after the embarrassing 1-0 Stamford Bridge defeat to Bournemouth.

Owner Roman Abramovich is behind the 52-year-old tactician, but if history has told us anything, it is that the Russian is never shy of pulling the trigger on a Chelsea coach.

With that said, British tabloid The Sun claim that former employers Real Madrid are closely following Jose Mourinho’s situation at Chelsea, as they plan to lure The Special One back to Spain should he be sacked.

Jose spent three roller-coaster seasons at Santiago Bernabeu, which saw him lose 5-0 in his very first Clasico, poke the late Tito Vilanova in the eye, and butt heads with several of his players, all whilst winning the Copa Del Rey, Liga BBVA, and Spanish Supercopa De Espana.

His bitter feud with Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and Iker Casillas saw him leave Los Blancos, and though the latter of the three is no longer in Madrid, the question remains whether Mourinho can get along with the Portuguese and Spanish stars should he agree to a second spell.

Of course, Mourinho’s return will mean the end of Rafael Benitez’s time with Les Merengues, a manager who was heavily tipped to be sacked in the wake of their 4-0 home defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico.

However, the 10-time Champions League winner publicly backed the former Napoli and Liverpool boss, though discontent in his coaching methods from the likes of Cristiano and James Rodriguez could still force Rafa out the door.
