The two clubs are being investigated by UEFA following the revelations by Der Spiegel which hints at a possible breach of FFP regulations.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has advised UEFA to ban both Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain from the Champions League if they are found guilty of breaching the Financial Fair Play rules. A recent report from "Football Leaks" as penned by German publication Der Spiegel revealed that the two European giants inflated sponsorship revenues to meet the regulations' requirement in order to be left off the hook.

However, Manchester City and PSG have both since denied any wrongdoing following the reopening of investigations. Addressing the subject in an interview with Goal, Tebas called upon European football's governing body to punish the two clubs if they indeed breached any of its FFP rules.

"I said two years ago that PSG and Manchester City were cheating so it wasn't a surprise to me at all.

"It's very important that UEFA does something real about it. It's something that has unbalanced world football and the structure of the game. You have to punish those teams.

"Forcing them to sit out a year of the Champions League would send a message that these rules must be taken seriously." "It isn't about punishing PSG specifically, but enforcing rules we expect everyone to follow.

"If UEFA acts as it has to act, then it has to sanction those teams."
