UEFA Champions League - Watch these

Juventus vs Man United

Kick-off for this clash is at 15:00 ET/20:00 GMT on Turner Sports, B/R Live, and Univision in the USA; BT Sport, TalkSport Radio UK, and BBC Radio 5 Live in the United Kingdom; DAZN in Canada; Optus Sport in Australia; and Sky Italia and Rai Italia in Italy.

This is the most anticipated game of today. Juventus will host Man United two weeks after beating them 1-0 at Old Trafford. One interesting aspect of Wednesday's game is the return of Paul Pogba to Turin. Three years after leaving Italy, the Frenchman will return to the stadium where he rose to stardom. Since leaving the Old Lady, the World Cup winner has struggled to reach his full potential but he insisted he holds no regrets over leaving the Serie A giant.

Cristiano Ronaldo, another man who will be under the spotlight, will lock horns with his former club once more. The Portuguese icon did not get on the scoresheet in the 1-0 triumph but he has scored against the Red Devils before and will be keen on getting off the mark in Europe this season.

Will Cristiano haunt his former club again?

The Premier League giant must avoid defeat in Italy if they wish to steer away from complications. Should they lose, Man United could be leapfrogged by third-placed Valencia, with the Spanish side trailing Jose's men by two points ahead of their Young Boys encounter.

Man City vs Shakhtar

This game is also scheduled at 15:00 ET/20:00 GMT on Galavision, B/R Live, and Univision in the USA; BT Sport and BBC Radio Manchester in the UK; DAZN in Canada; Optus Sport in Australia; and Futbol 2 and OLL.tv in Ukraine.

Man City is in great form heading into this game. They will face Shakhtar on the back of their 6-1 thrashing of Southampton, but a lot of the headlines surrounding the Citizens in recent days have to do with their spending and not their football. The club is under heavy scrutiny once more as they are back in hot water over alleged FFP breaches, but Guardiola has been quick to squash the belief that their success is solely due to their money.

As for Shakhtar, their aim will be to shock the Premier League giant. Man City can secure progression on Wednesday if they win and Hoffenheim loses, but their Ukrainian opponent will not let that happen without a fight.

Viktoria Plzeň vs Real Madrid

Another 15:00 ET/20:00 GMT kick-off, this tie will be aired on UniMás, B/R Live, Univision, and WQBA 1140 AM in the USA; BT Sport and Talksport 2 Radio UK in the United Kingdom; DAZN in Canada; Optus Sport in Australia; O2 TV in the Czech Republic; and Movistar in Spain.

Since taking over, Santiago Solari has led Real Madrid to two wins. The first was a Copa del Rey tie against a Segunda Division B side while the latter was against Valladolid in La Liga. Against Viktoria Plzeň, Los Blancos will face a team they narrowly beat 2-1 at home.

However, Solari will be keen for another triumph. Florentino Perez is not sold on this interim manager, hence the recent links with Leonardo Jardim. A winning streak might change the board's opinion, though.

Real Madrid is reportedly looking at Jardim for their next permanent manager

Let's not forget about the Copa Sudamericana semis

Atlético PR vs Fluminense

The race to the Copa Sudamericana final begins today with the first of two semi-finals kicking off at  18:45 ET/23:45 GMT on Fox Sports in the USA; and SporTV, Globo, and FOX Sports 1 Brasil in Brazil. This will be the first of their two-legged affair, with the eventual winner setting up a date with either Santa Fe or Junior F.C. in the ultimate game.

Today's big headlines

That awful Salah statue

If you thought Cristiano Ronaldo's bust was the worst in football, wait until you see Mohamed Salah's one. The Egyptian ace's version quickly went viral for its odd appearance and was used to troll the Liverpool ace after his side lost 2-0 to Red Star Belgrade.

Barcelona the first to progress

Thanks to their 1-1 draw at Inter Milan, Barcelona became the first team to progress to the round of 16 in this season's Champions League. This was all thanks to Malcom, who broke the deadlock despite coming on as a late substitution.

What to look forward to on Thursday, November 8, 2018
