The Frenchman has poured cold water over a possible return to the Turin outfit.

Paul Pogba has revealed that he does not regret leaving Juventus ahead of Manchester United's Champions League group-stage game in Turin on Wednesday. The Frenchman returns to the Allianz Stadium for the first time since departing in a then-world record deal back in 2016.

In recent times, a reported fallout with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho engineered rumors that Pogba may be forced to leave his current side. With Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer, the 25-year-old midfielder was said to be considering a return to his former club as the prospect of playing with the Portuguese seems appealing. The rumors were, once again, rekindled after the World Cup winner arrived at the Turin airport on Tuesday with a black-and-white striped suitcase.

However, Paul Pogba put all the speculations of an imminent reunion with his former club to bed in the pre-match presser.

"Choosing to come back to United, first of all, was my choice. Juve was playing Champions League and Manchester were playing Europa. I don't regret my choice.

"I know Manchester in the last few years haven't been at the top, but I came back to help the team and get them back to the top.

"We have a lot of goals. For me, it's not changed, I don't regret it at all. I'm very happy to come back to United and I'm sure we will come back to the best.

"I think it's gone well. The first season we won three trophies. The second year we arrived second and went to the final of the FA Cup.

"Personally I think it's been good for me, good for the team, obviously we always expect more and better from ourselves but I think we are on the way. We always can do better, I am happy with my performances and what we achieved in two years."

Paul Pogba further addressed issues with regards to being stripped of the vice-captaincy as well as his relationship with Jose Mourinho.

"It didn't affect me. I'm still playing and really happy to play. The manager is the one who chooses who is going to be captain. If he takes the armband away, it doesn't change anything for me.

"I just want to play, perform and give my best for the team, the fans and the club and that's it. It didn't really touch me or affect me."

Momentarily, Paul Pogba and his teammates face a tough test to avenge the 1-0 defeat suffered at Old Trafford two weeks ago.
