Two familiar foes will lock horns in this joint-venture between Liga MX and the Major League Soccer in a game set to be played in Toronto.

Football fans in the U.S. will be able to follow the historical opening game of the Campeones Cup tonight on Univisión Deportes. Toronto FC, the winners of the 2018 MLS Cup, will face Liga MX's Campeón de Campeones, Tigres UANL.

Campeones Cup is the flagship of a partnership between MLS and Liga MX, which was created to have both leagues collaborating to drive positive social change while offering top-caliber games. The first game of this competition will be held at BMO Field in Toronto.

Toronto will face this game with their main "weapons", including Italian footballer Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley and Jonathan Osorio. On the other side of the pitch, André-Pierre Gignac and two-time Copa América champion Edu Vargas will lead Tigres in their effort to win this competition.

These teams have met previously during the course of this year, with Toronto making the best out of their meetings against Tigres in the CONCACAF Champions League. Toronto qualified for the tournament's semi-final after beating the yellow and blue side on away goals, since the aggregate ended with a 4-4 score.
