La Liga's decision to have their games being played in North America has been met with disappointment by the Spanish Footballers' Association.

Last week, La Liga president Javier Tebas revealed that the top-tier football league in Spain signed a deal to play some of their competitive games in the North American region. The announcement was met with dismay by a number of teams, and the Spanish Players' Union (AFE)revealed they would contest the decision.

Today, a report by Spanish outlet As revealed that the twenty top flight captains have joined to voice their thoughts on this decision, with their minds set on having it revoked. The Players' Union believes that this decision was made without considering their opinion, forcing them to ask for an explanation and for a detailed plan on how the games will be played in North America...if that decision stands.

It's been understood that Ramos and Messi were the first players to sign the letter that AFE president, David Aganzo, will be handing Tebas in a meeting scheduled for Wednesday. Added to their signatures, players such as Diego Godín (Atlético Madrid), Joaquín (Real Betis) and more agreed to share their concerns on this plan, which seems to be motivated entirely on the monetary benefits it will bring to football's governing body in Spain.

Added to that, AFE execs intend to ask La Liga's president about another matter of concern for the league's players: the late kick-off times proposed by Tebas. Barcelona and Real Madrid saw their weekend games starting at 10:15 p.m. CEST on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, which means they finished their games during the early hours of the next day.

There is some concern about a possible trend being set by La Liga's bosses, which will eventually force footballers to schedule their post-match training sessions to a later time in the day, risking their health while doing so.

La Liga determines the kick-off time for each game monthly, and the players' desire is to have the final game of each day set to start a bit earlier than the kick-off time they had this weekend.
