Liverpool's poor Premier League run continues!
Despite winning back-to-back games in late August, the Merseyside giants have now gone winless for the second game running, this time drawing 3-3 at home to Brighton following their goalless stalemate away to Everton before the international break.
This result leaves Jurgen Klopp's men a whopping 11 points behind current league leaders Arsenal and the Seagulls have one player to thank for inflicting this unwelcomed result on the Reds: Leandro Trossard.
The Belgian ace grabbed all the headlines with his performance, scoring a brilliant hat-trick to secure the visitors a point in what was their new head coach Roberto De Zerbi's debut game.
The diminutive midfielder scored a brace early on in the game. He first broke the deadlock after only four minutes and in the 17th minute, Trossard got his–and Brighton's–second of the game.
Unfortunately for De Zerbi's crew, Liverpool clawed their way back into the match, with Roberto Firmino scoring just after the half-an-hour mark and just before the hour-mark to pull the hosts level.
And in the 63rd minute, Klopp's men went 3-2 up courtesy of a Webster own goal and had the Anfield crowd hopeful of a remarkable comeback victory. Unfortunately, Trossard had other plans and completed his hat-trick seven minutes before the end of normal time, smashing a lovely cross into the top of the net past a helpless Alisson.
Not only did that 83rd-minute effort earn Brighton a point, but it also helped the Belgian ace enter the record books. For a whopping 13 years, no player had come to Anfield and pulled off a three-goal haul in the Premier League. The last man to manage this feat was Andrey Arshavin back in 2009 when he bagged that iconic super hat-trick away to Liverpool.

In fact, Trossard has become only the third person in history to score a Premier League hat-trick at Anfield, proving that this achievement was no easy feat.

As for the Merseyside giants, they find themselves 11 points behind Arsenal, with their next opponent in the English top-flight being none other than the Gunners. Salah and Co. will visit the Emirates Stadium next Sunday and could slash that lead with a win, but given how poorly Klopp's men are playing, and how well Arteta's side have been performing, pulling off a victory will be extremely difficult.
