The two European rivals went toe-to-toe in a classic affair at Wembley on Monday night.

England has found itself on the wrong side of historyy once more after ending their UEFA Nations League campaign without a single win. The Three Lions hosted eternal rivals Germany at Wembley on Monday night and were only able to share the spoils after their frantic affair ended in a 3-3 draw.

It was a rollercoaster of an evening inside Wembley before both sides arrived at their third draw in the last four outings. Following a goalless first half, it was Germany who capitilized on a couple of errors by England's Harry Maguire to take a two-goal lead inside the first 20 minutes of the second half. Ilkay Gundogan converted a spot-kick for the first before Kai Havertz wowed fans with a sensational long-range finish moments later.

Despite the visitors assuming the drivers' seat, the introduction of Bukayo Saka and Mason Mount for Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden ultimately yielded dividends for England. The resilience of the group was rewarded thanks to goals from Luke Shaw and Mason Mount, and Harry Kane's subsequent goal from the spot almost sealed the remontada for the Euro 2020 finalists. However, the Germans managed a last-gasp equaliser through Kai Havertz once more after Nick Pope failed to properly deal with a shot.

The night's result left England at the bottom of Group A3 with just three points, having drawn three and lost three of the six games they played in the Nations League. The Three Lions are officially winless in their last six games in all competitions (D3 L3), their longest run since April-June 1993 (also six). It's their longest ever winless run going into a major tournament. Also, the outcome of the meeting with Germany meant that they have conceded at least three goals in consecutive home games for the first time since June 1995 (vs Sweden and Brazil).
