Days after being threatened by Los Culés' attempt to file a lawsuit against them, Los Colchoneros have agreed to negotiate for the French star.

Things between Barcelona and Atlético were about to escalate due to Antoine Griezmann's situation, but in the end, both teams are keen on reaching a deal to secure the player's permanent move to Los Colchoneros.

Last week, Barcelona was reportedly considering to file a lawsuit against Atlético for failing to pay the player's buyout clause included in his loan deal. The Madrid-based team wanted to negotiate Griezmann's stay as a free agent by the end of the season, but it seems that Barcelona will end up receiving money for their player and Atlético will pay a reasonable price for his services, according to new reports.

An article by French publication L'Equipe states that both clubs are working out a deal where Los Colchoneros would pay $25M to Los Culés. This would be a good agreement for both parties, since Barcelona wanted $40M for the player's services according to the loan deal and the buyout option included in the contract. Now, this deal would leave all parties satisfied and ready to carry on with their seasons.

The publication states that a deal could be reached sooner than expected, as both clubs want to seal the agreement before the upcoming international break. This way, Los Colchoneros would be able to use the player for an entire game (not for 30 minutes as they have done this season), and Barcelona would collect some money out of a player that has been deemed surplus to Xavi's needs.
