Chelsea have moved quickly to find a new manager after sacking Thomas Tuchel earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Chelsea announced they had parted ways with Thomas Tuchel. Although the German manager helped steer the Blues to their second UEFA Champions League title in 2021, he has quickly fallen out of favor with his new employers following a poor start in the Premier League and the Champions League. Chelsea's shock 1-0 loss to minnows Dinamo Zagreb on matchday one of their 2022/23 Champions League campaign effectively sealed Tuchel's fate, and now, after his dismissal, the club have looked quickly to find a replacement.

Several names were bandied about, but now the man in charge will be Graham Potter. Potter will be a name that will be quite familiar to some Premier League fans for his time with Brighton, where he had been managing for the past few years prior to being appointed as head coach for Chelsea.

The 47-year-old, who reports claim has been given a five-year deal, will have a tall task ahead to get the London giants back on track. At the moment, Chelsea are bottom of their Champions League group, but will have a chance to try to gain some positive momentum as they are currently due to face fellow London-based side Fulham on Saturday, but this looks set to be postoponed following the September 8th passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Potter's first European test with Chelsea will be a home clash against Austrian Bundesliga side Salzburg on September 14th.
