The Portuguese youngster snatched all the points for the Reds against Newcastle United in extraordinary fashion.

Liverpool escaped another disappointing result in the Premier League by the skin of their teeth with new boy Fabio Carvalho scoring a dramatic winner against Newcastle United on Tuesday night. The Portuguese starlet who turned 20 just over a fortnight ago inspired the Reds to a much needed victory by smashing home the deciding goal in the 98th minute of the clash at Anfield.

Unlike the Reds, Newcastle approached the midweek's clash on the back of a four game unbeaten run and were poised to make a difference despite the magnitude of test they faced. They were consequently favored by fortune, as they will end up in the driving seat by scoring at the latter part of the first half. Club-record signing Alexander Isak announced himself to fans of the Magpies by hitting the target and beaten Allison Becker from close range inside the 38th minute.

As seen more often that not, Liverpool rose to the peak of their powers in the second half and were able to accord the visitors a brilliant response. Roberto Firmino's equalizer in the 61st minute set them on course to punishing the time-wasting Newcastle side. Justice was somewhat restored when the match referee added a minimum five minutes to the proceeding as a result of the visitors' game management tactics. However, the universe sided with the hosts and it was not until deep into added time that they got their reward.

Eddie Howe's men had failed to properly clear their lines from a James Milner corner and unfortunately saw the ball fall in the path of Carvalho. The former Fulham starlet made no mistake, smashing the ball in from close range to spark wild celebrations across Anfield. Watch:

With the goal, Carvalho became the youngest player to score a 90th-minute winning goal in the Premier League for Liverpool. Meanwhile, the night's win has propeled the Reds into a more respectable position. The Reds are now fifth on the league log and have accumulated eight points from a possible 15 - putting them five points behind Manchester City and seven behind league-leaders Arsenal.
