The Slovak is expected to be the fifth signing for the Red Devils.

Manchester United have reportedly reached full agreement with Newcastle United over the signing of Martin Dubravka. The 33-year-old Slovak is set to become the fifth player to join the Red Devils in the Ten Hag era after the Magpies accepted the offer for him to leave on loan before the transfer window shuts close.

The arrival of Nick Pope at Newcastle this summer has led Dubravka to fall down the pecking order despite being one of the league's top shot-stoppers in recent years. Relatively, Manchester United have been scanning the market for a formidable goalie to rival David De Gea following Dean Henderson's departure to Nottingham Forest. With the latter on loan at the newly-promoted side, only Tom Heaton remains at Old Trafford and, as a result, it remained imperative for new competitor to be recruited.

According to Sky Sports, Dubravka told Newcastle earlier this week that he wanted to leave the club and join Man Utd. Negotiations between both clubs have since been ongoing but was momentarily held up by a clause that would result in United exercising a right to buy the goalkeeper on a permanent basis. The terms have now been defined and the Reds obligating to buy now depends on a defined number of appearances the Slovakian international makes.

Before settling on Dubravka, Manchester United was linked with moves for Bundesliga pair Yann Sommer and Kevin Trapp from Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively. Last week Thursday, the latter revealed that he had received and rejected an offer to join Manchester United, and has decided to remain with the Europa League winners as they compete in this season's UEFA Champions League.
