The Reds bounced back from the disappointment against Manchester United to hit new heights.

Liverpool delivered a resounding response to the disappointment they suffered versus Manchester United on Monday night by running rout against Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday. The Reds staged a complete annihilation to put nine goals past the Cherries, equalling the Premier League record for the biggest win margin in the process.

The hosts scored five before the break to settle nerves at Anfield following their poor start to season. Luis Diaz opened the scoring in the third minute before Harvey Elliot smashed home Liverpool's second. After assisting the Reds' first two goals, Roberto Firmino set-up Trent Alexander-Arnold for the third goal of the night before getting himself on the scoresheet. On the stroke of half-time, Virgil van Dijk got his first goal of the season by nodding home Andrew Robertson's corner-kick.

Not much changed in the second half as and the fortunes of Bournemouth was further worsened with Chris Mepham scoring an own-goal in the 46th minute. Firmino got his brace in the 62nd minute, his 100th in all competitions for Liverpool, while Luis Diaz grabbed his side's final goal in the 85th minute. In-between both goals, substitute Fabio Carvalho continued his impressive start to life at Anfield by getting his first Premier League goal of the season.
